Last Night

So Wednesday was a pretty eventful day…Rick had something to do with his aunt so he took off early. Meanwhile, Sean and I went shopping. We started at the Levis store in Union Square. I found some really nice corduroys (only 25 bucks too) and Sean got a couple pairs of jeans. We then walked around Union Square for a bit before heading to Macworld again. I wasn’t able to find the gift I wanted to buy but on our way out we saw Rick going down the escalator – perfect timing. The three of hopped in a cab and went to Haight street.

Haight street is my favorite part of any San Francisco visit. The shopping there is amazing. We stopped by this store called Villains , it was a really cool store with lots of really nice clothing. Sean got a really hip blazer from Volcom and I got a t-shirt that says “IM HUGE IN JAPAN”. Our next stop was Giant Robot , this store is really cool and has a lot of really interesting Japanese inspired artwork and clothing. Rick got a couple of t-shirts and I bought a t-shirt as well.

It was almost 2 p.m I think so we were pretty freaking hungry at this point. We walked for a bit and couldn’t really find anything good to eat,  but then we spotted this Mexican restaurant that looked pretty amazing. Rick ordered the biggest plate of food I’ve ever seen. The food was really good, although I prefer a California burrito from back home ;) Our last stop on Haight was my favorite store. It’s not actually on the touristy part of Haight so I was really happy to have discovered it last year. The store is called D-Structure  and it’s simply amazing. The store is really hip and clean, the first floor is all of their merchandise and the second floor houses all of their artists hard at work (You can see several 30″ displays). We’re all big fans of small, creative companies so both Sean and Rick fell in love immediately. We all made out with lots of really awesome clothing.

After our busy day of shopping, we went back to our hotel to chill for a bit before heading back out for the night. We decided on going to this Thai place about 4 blocks from our hotel. It was really awesome, much better than our first one. The vibe was really cool and the food was amazing. After eating, we went to a few bars, the first was an Irish Pub (seems cool, right?) but when we walked in, it was filled with like 40 year olds – no thanks. We then went to a Sports Bar across the street and had a few drinks and just hung back for a little bit. After that, we walked around the city for a bit and eventually made it back to our hotel where we had a few more drinks and hung out video chatting with some friends :) We’re checking out in about 30 minutes and going back to Cupertino to have lunch with some friends before we head back home.

Wed.

When Sean and Rick said, “Wednesday, we can wake up whenever” I  didn’t think we’d still be in the hotel room at 10:30. I’m probably just weird, I really don’t sleep that much. Even on my days off, I wake up around 8-9, sleeping past 9:30 for me is a rare event.

I think today’s plan is just to get some shopping done, I think we’re going to start off in downtown then head up to Haight street. I am debating just getting ready and heading to Macworld real quick to pick up a gift for someone…
